About Laura
I’m Dr. Laura Schmalzl — a clinical neuropsychologist, cognitive neuroscientist, and yoga therapist. I’m also a faculty member and mentor for YogaX, a yoga certification program for healthcare professionals at Stanford School of Medicine.
I am dedicated to helping individuals come home to themselves. With a foundation rooted in neuroscience, psychology, yoga therapy, and coaching, I offer a unique and integrative approach to personal transformation. My work centers on nervous system regulation, cultivating presence, and supporting individuals through life transitions with grounded, embodied practices.
Having navigated my own path of bridging intellect and intuition, academia and embodiment, I’ve come to deeply value both the power of practical tools and the necessity of soul-aligned living. My offerings weave together reflective dialogue, mindful movement, breathwork, and attention training — all tailored to meet each person where they are.
I specialize in working with people in their 30s and 40s — busy professionals and parents who are craving clarity, purpose, and stability in the midst of life’s demands. Many of my clients come to me when they’re standing at a threshold, ready for a new chapter but unsure how to begin.
I envision a world where people feel connected — to themselves, to one another, and to a life of meaning. My mission is to empower individuals to create the life they want to experience. Whether in one-on-one sessions, workshops, or retreats, my work is always in service of that deeper homecoming — to joy, presence, and authentic alignment.
